Molly Eliza Gough
b. 1994, Stafford, UK
Lives and works in London

My practice taps into relationships, art and the spaces both inhabit, furthermore the way the experience of those spaces can contribute to relationships, emphasising the full circle that occurs. The work is kneading at the subtle, intimate pressure points of the audience, teasing at the proximity of bodies through digital communication, and work and life. It is asking, how does one make another person feel? How are feelings transmitted, shaped? And how can they be created in someone else?

Press & Release is an ongoing project that takes the form of a mailing list. This is a central fixture of my practice, it sends a fortnightly email of my writing, in the genre of flash fiction.

Recently my research focuses on being a woman in therapy and diving into the intricacies of abusive trauma. Investigating my personal experiences and acknowledging how that contributes to my decisions in art making. A man trained me how to build a relationship where there wasn’t one, to overshare whilst not sharing anything at all, but this time it’s not out of fear.
